Traditionalist reenactors and horsemen gathered August 14–16, 2026 in Bugac, Hungary, for the Kurultaj, or Hungarian Tribal Assembly — Europe's largest heritage festival, where hundreds of mounted and thousands of on-foot reenactors brought ancient Hun, Avar and Hungarian traditions to life. The three-day event drew delegations from more than twenty related nations, showcasing steppe nomadic culture and the heritage of tribal communities.
