Budapest, Hungary – January 3, 2026. Several hundred people protested outside Slovakia’s embassy in Budapest on Saturday against the Beneš Decrees and a recent Slovak legislative amendment that allows prison sentences for questioning the decrees. The demonstration, organised by university students, drew a largely young crowd, with participants holding torches as they gathered on Stefánia Road.
