The Busójárás of Mohács is a traditional spring-welcoming, winter-farewell festival of the local Šokci (Croat) community, held during the carnival season. Participants, known as busós, parade through the streets in frightening masks and bell-covered costumes, using noise and ritual to symbolically drive away winter.
