On February 8, 2026, I photographed members of the Balatoni Jegesmedvék as they immersed themselves in the icy waters of Lake Velence. Led by István Pribék, the Hungarian cold-water community practices breathwork and safe winter bathing, building resilience through cold exposure along Hungary’s lakeshores.
